No agreement was reached between Manchester United and Adrien Rabiot during their most recent meeting and new talks will reportedly be held next week.

The Red Devils’ Director of Football John Murtough travelled to Turin this week to meet with the French midfielder’s mother and agent Veronique to discuss a move to the North West of England. Reports suggest that Rabiot is asking for a salary of around €8-10m, figures that Manchester United predictably don’t want to match.

As reported by TMW, despite the lack of agreement in the recent meeting, things still moved forward positively and Manchester United are preparing for a new round of talks next week, where they hope to reach an agreement with Rabiot.

Juventus and the Premier League side have already agreed a €15m deal, so things are entering the final stretch now for the English side.

Manchester United are desperate to breath some life into their midfield after another poor showing from the McTominay-Fred partnership in the season opener against Brighton.

  1. What a miracle it would be to get rid of Ramsey and Rabiot in one transfer window. I think I can count the number of good games that Rabiot had on one or two hands, and even in his good games it was usually because he did his own thing and it worked out, rather than because he played well in the tactical system. There’s talent in there for sure, but a serious lack of tactical discipline or tactical intelligence.
