Transfer speculation continues to circulate around Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Napoli and Milan eager for his signature.
The 22-year-old has a release clause in his contract that is worth €40m, but only for his former club Bayern Munich.
If he is sold to a different club, then Bayern are granted a 40 per cent cut of that transfer fee.
Although the clause is set at €40m, the Rossoblu are confident that they can command circa double that fee, similar to the figure Atalanta got out of Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund.
Zirkzee is wanted by Serie A sides Napoli and Milan, the former in particular if Victor Osimhen were to move on.
However, neither can probably compete on a financial level with Premier League outfits Manchester United and Arsenal.
Bologna face Milan this weekend and coach Thiago Motta spoke in a press conference today, where he was asked about what awaits Zirkzee.
“We will see what the future holds for him. Zirkzee is one of those who always trains hard, inspires the others and can show to the new players what it means to represent Bologna.
“He has a bright future ahead of him, but the most important thing is that he focuses on our present.”
