Sofyan Amrabat has failed to impress whilst on loan with Manchester United this season and transfer market expert Matteo Moretto has provided an update on his future.

The 27-year-old midfielder rose to prominence as a shining star in Morocco’s run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar, instantly attracting the attention of clubs around Europe. After finishing the season with Fiorentina, he joined the Red Devils on a €10m loan deal with a €25m buy option attached.

Amrabat, who has regularly been used out of position by Erik ten Hag this term, has failed to impress across his 22 appearances for Manchester United, becoming a figure of ire amongst supporters at the Premier League side.

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on the Amrabat situation at Manchester United via Caught Offside.

At this stage, the Red Devils are not looking to activate the buy option attached to the Moroccan midfielder’s loan, meaning he’ll return to Fiorentina at the end of the season, where he’s contracted to June 2025.

Whilst he’s been linked with a few clubs in recent weeks, it’s still too early to tell where Amrabat will be playing next season.
