Manchester United have reportedly backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer until at least after the game against Tottenham Hotspur, as doubts remain over Antonio Conte.
It had been assumed Solskjaer’s time was up following a humiliating 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.
However, Sky Sport Italia and reports from England too are confident the manager will remain in the dugout until at the very least after the upcoming game with Spurs.
Conte remains the hot favourite to take over and multiple sources in Italy, including Sportitalia, reported there was initial contact with his entourage last night.
It would seem that Conte has put aside his usual concerns about taking on a club mid-season and has given the all-clear to accept the role.
However, it is Manchester United owners the Glazers who are still unsure whether Conte is the right man for the job.
They are above all worried that Conte is not one for a long-term project, as his jobs have tended to last no more than two seasons.
On the other hand, he has experience in the Premier League, winning with Chelsea, and is fresh from taking Inter to the Serie A title, ending the Juventus monopoly.
The decision from main part of Manchester United board is now confirmed/approved. My understanding is Ole Gunnar Solskjær will definitely be in charge for Tottenham game on Saturday 🔴 #MUFC

Conte is the right manager for MUFC, but is Manchester the right team for him.
His style of play requires all the players have to run more than they will like to as
pressing and winning the ball back is vital. Ronaldo will not fit into that style, Pogba will be glad to see AC.
