Sky Sport Italia reports Manchester United will intensify talks with Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund and are expected to make contact with La Dea’s directors shortly.

The Denmark international is a long-time target of the Red Devils and according to Sky Sport Italia talks between directors of the two clubs will intensify in the coming hours.

Sky report that Atalanta’s asking price for their exciting young striker stands at around €60m. Hojlund, 20, scored 10 goals 34 appearances with La Dea in his first season in Serie A.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Manchester United have yet to make their opening offer for the Denmark international but Il Corriere dello Sport reported at the beginning of July that the Red Devils had had a €35m bid rejected by the Nerazzurri.

Hojlund joined Atalanta from Strum Graz last summer in a deal worth €17m.

La Dea’s CEO Luca Percassi has recently told Sky Sport Italia that he wants to keep the best players at the club, including Hojlund, but kept the door open for the striker’s transfer at Old Trafford saying that Atalanta have strengthen the team also ‘through sales’ over the last few years.
