Manchester United are set to sign 16-year-old Italian defender Luca Ercolani, who was spotted in Serie D.
The teenage central defender has already been on trial in Manchester for several weeks and it’s reported he impressed enough to earn a contract.
Ercolani had been playing for Serie D side Forli and a compensation figure will be decided by FIFA.
He was scouted by David Williams, the same man who brought Federico Macheda and Giuseppe Rossi to Old Trafford.
