Antonio Conte has made no secret of his desire to work with Vidal again following their successful time together at Juventus.

It has been reported for weeks now that Inter are trying to get him on loan with option to buy for a total €15m, whereas Barcelona are holding out for €20m.

Now Chilean television station DirecTV claim Manchester United have suddenly jumped into the race for the 32-year-old midfielder with a superior proposal.

It’s likely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s club could simply offer €20m upfront, seeing Vidal as a replacement for injured Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

However, both clubs face strong resistance from Barcelona and coach Ernesto Valverde, who have repeatedly stated Vidal is not for sale.

This is despite the player taking legal action against the club to recoup what he claims are unpaid bonuses.

Inter have another alternative, as Christian Eriksen is available from Tottenham Hotspur for €20m, but prefer to wait until he is a free agent in June.
