Man United’s Cristiano Ronaldo tweet goes viral for all the wrong reasons

A Manchester United tweet showing Cristiano Ronaldo about to take a free kick has gone viral for all the wrong reasons given his poor conversion rate at Juventus.

CR7 is absolutely dominating the Red Devils’ activity on social media since the club announced his return last week.

After a three-year spell in Turin, Ronaldo has completed a €15m move to Old Trafford from Juventus. The Red Devils can pay up to €8m in bonuses depending on the player’s and the club’s targets over the next two seasons.

Ronaldo scored 101 goals in 134 appearances with the Bianconeri but only managed one goal from 72 free kick attempts during his time in Turin.

That’s why many fans, including those of Juventus, have made fun of Manchester United’s tweet showing Ronaldo about to take a free kick in a Red Devils shirt. The tweet has been shared more than 25,000 times in less than 24 hours, but most reactions aim to mock the Red Devils and their new star.

Check out the best ones down below:

  1. MARCO

Doomed to read about CR7 on FI until the day I die…

  2. David

1 free kick scored in four years, yet he took all of them? Juventus are lucky they got rid of this albatross.

  3. Gamal

They were embarrassing to watch as a Juve supporter.

  4. Burky

I think some statistics must say that a professional footballer scores a goal out of every 25 Free-kick atempts.

So statistically CR7 proved em wrong and scored less 😂
