On Saturday afternoon, Manchester United carried out an enquiry in order to get a better understanding of the contractual situation of Napoli‘s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.

The Partenopei executive is one of the hottest commodities in world football at the moment after being credited as one of the ‘architects’ behind Napoli’s Serie A winning campaign in 2022-23.

In recent years, Giuntoli has been crucial in bringing the likes of Victor Osimhen (€75m), Khvivha Kvaratskhelia (€11.5m) and Kim Min-jae (€18m) to Campania.

Giuntoli has also been credited with the signings of club captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo, influential midfielder Piotr Zielinski and the shrewd acquisitions of Amir Rrahmani and Fabian Ruiz in previous windows.

As a result of his prowess in the transfer market, Giuntoli has also been widely rumoured to be in line to take on the role of sporting director at Juventus

However, as detailed by Tuttomercato, a move to the Premier League could be an enticing offer, given the extensive resources available to Man United, as well as the team’s likely qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The 51-year-old still has just over a year remaining on his current contract with Napoli.
