Man City squad worth two times as much as Inter

Manchester City’s thrashing of Real Madrid has taken them to the Champions League final, where they’ll face an Inter squad worth half as much as theirs.

The Premier League giants, with the backing of Abu Dhabi, are on track to win the first Treble in their history, and only the second ever in English football. Pep Guardiola’s side are on the cusp of winning their third consecutive league title and will face rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final, leaving the achievement in their grasp.

Inter, on the other hand, have struggled to show consistency in Serie A this season but have managed to recover in the latter stages of this campaign, allowing them to rise into the top four spots and reach the Coppa Italia final, where they’ll face Fiorentina. The big surprise, however, is their incredible journey in the Champions League.

The Manchester City squad has an estimated total market value of €1.05 billion, with stars like Erling Haaland and Phil Foden being worth around €170m and €110m respectively.

In comparison, the estimated total market value of the Inter squad is only €534m, with their most valuable players being Lautaro Martinez at €80m and Nicolo Barella at €70m.

Whilst it’s technically impossible to truly define the market value of a specific player in the modern footballing landscape, there’s an obvious gulf in quality and expenses between the two squads.
