Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could make a move this summer, with German reports pointing him towards Juventus or Barcelona.

The 31-year-old is a veteran of the German international squad with 58 caps and 14 goals under his belt.

His contract with Manchester City is due to expire in June 2023 and negotiations are in progress to sign an extension.

He made 43 competitive appearances for City this season, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.

However, German newspaper Bild claims that he is looking for a transfer to get regular playing time under his belt ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The report suggests he is not happy with the direction taken by Pep Guardiola and would like a new challenge after six years in Manchester.

Juventus are named as a potential option who are monitoring the situation carefully, while Gundogan could try to make a lifelong dream come true by playing for Barcelona.

  1. He is not that stupid to go from Pep to PhD Max and do a Can sequel. Going from a Bentley to a vintage 1920’s style bicycle is not going to sway him. The scroungers of Turin will never pay a fee, and if they wind down the contract, he will go to a bigger club in Europe. Plus does he want to learn defending for 90 minutes…

  2. Juve really tring to make the Allianz Stadium a retirement home just like the MLS. Bunch of clowns.
