Ruslan Malinovskyi’s wife Roksana responded to the Atalanta fans imploring her husband not to leave the club amid links to Nottingham Forest.

The newly promoted Premier League side are reportedly ready to pay around €15m for the 29-year-old Ukrainian forward this summer. Nottingham Forest are currently working on finalising the arrival of Remo Freuler and they’re hoping to welcome another player from Bergamo in the coming weeks.

Writing on her Instagram story, Roksana Malinovskyi responded to the fans begging her husband not to leave Atalanta this summer.

“Guys your messages break my heart. This is as unexpected for us as it is for you. But nothing has been decided and it doesn’t depend on us, please be patient. I cannot keep quiet because you’re worried and I don’t want this.

“You must know the one thing, I’ll never leave you. Bergamo is our home. Life in football is too difficult, though. You never know what to expect. We love you! R&R.”

The 29-year-old Malinovskyi joined Atalanta in July 2019 from Belgian side Genk in a deal worth around €13.6m. He’s been a consistent performer for the club, scoring 29 goals and providing 26 assists in 128 appearances across all competitions.

The forward was understandably distraught following Russia’s invasion of his native Ukraine earlier this year and he regularly took to social media to provide updates on the situation.

  1. Nottingham forest are really poor – have no idea why your going thr – enjoy the championship from next yr and onwards, cuz forest wont come back up again for many yrs

  2. Forest are going big and are going places. Once this team gels, we’ll be a match for almost anyone. Problem is, we had to rebuild from scratch and will take time to all link together.

  3. Gracias, emotion is very strong when you are likes by fans . However, one should never forget Nottingham Forest is an iconic club with great history . It is also a new and exciting project for any players who are up for a challenge. Ultimately money talks and every player is for sale at a price. What is being offered to the player by a club also has a bearing on what decision they make .

  4. Many players and their family who comes here, stays even when the player moves on. That tells you something about our city. And remember Forest have won the European Cup and most of not all games sold out last year. This is a big and community orientated club … COYR
