Ruslan Malinovskyi would reportedly like a return to Italy to play in Serie A this summer and Bologna are now pushing to sign the 30-year-old from Olympique Marseille according to Calciomercato.com.

Malinovskyi has had interest from Besiktas already this summer, but subsequently declined the approach according to Calciomercato.

The Ukrainian midfielder spent three-and-a-half seasons on the books with Atalanta, signing in the summer of 2019, before moving on loan to Marseille in January 2023.

Despite joining just over six months ago, Malinovskyi is now out of favour in France and according to coach Marcelino, he is not part of the plans for the beginning of the Ligue 1 season.

“He won’t be called up, he’s not a player we can count on,” Marcelino said in a recent press conference.

During his time in Italy, Malinovskyi registered 30 goals from 143 appearances across all competitions. 23 of those strikes came in Serie A from a total of 115 outings.
