Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi commented on PSG’s 1-0 win over Real Madrid, recalling Atalanta’s elimination in 2020: ‘Unlike us, they have two matches…’

La Dea reached the Champions League quarter-finals in 2019-20, but had to play the final eight in Lisbon after the COVID pandemic. All the games were played on a one-leg basis and Atalanta were eliminated at the hands of PSG.

Mario Pasalic gave La Dea the lead in the first half, but the Ligue 1 giants scored twice in the last three minutes to qualify for the semis. Marquinhos levelled the score at minute 90 and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting netted the winner in the stoppages.

That defeat seems to be still fresh in Malinovskyi’s memory as the Ukraine international commented on PSG’s victory over Real Madrid last night, recalling how the Ligue 1 giants can play two legs this time.

“Unlike us, they have two matches,” Malinovskyi wrote on Twitter.

The 28-year-old joined Atalanta in 2019 and has seven goals and two assists in 26 games across all competitions this season.
