Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi has shared a link to help the Ukrainian military after Russia’s invasion: ‘Pray for our country.’

Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” and Russian forces unleashed an attack on Ukraine this morning. Ukraine international Malinovskyi, who has been playing for Atalanta for the last two years and a half has shared two messages on Twitter asking for help for his country.

“Ukraine is under attack right NOW. Please, spread the word and pray for our country,” the 28-year wrote on Twitter. He also shared one link to help the Ukrainian military with donations.

His wife Roksana Malinovska, also from Ukraine described the situation in her native country on Instagram.

“Russia has officially begun war with Ukraine. All strategic objects are blowing up, people are horrified, panicked. All boundaries are currently closed. Our families are in Ukraine. I cry and pray for my country, for our people, for my home.

“Russian news does not tell the truth. They say that they are protecting the East from us. This is a crime against all humanity, as you can stop this horror.”

Roberto De Zerbi is one of the Italians in the country and returned to Kyiv only a few days ago, after the end of Shakhtar’s training retreat in Turkey.

His staff and he are at a hotel in Kyiv with some of their players. They heard explosions nearby their place at 5 am this morning and they can’t return home as Ukraine has closed its airspace to civilian flights.
