The 27-year-old has become a regular starter at Atalanta after the Argentinean’s move to Sevilla in January.

“I felt a little bit of pressure because I knew people expected a lot from me,” the Ukraine international told L’Eco di Bergamo.

“This is because I used the first season in Italy to settle in and learn the language. In the second season, you always expect a step forward. I wanted more from myself, I knew I could do more, but now I finally feel physical well. It had never happened,” the 27-year-old admitted.

“We want to qualify for the Champions League and win the Coppa Italia.”

Malinovskyi did also reveal what Ukraine coach Andriy Shevchenko told him before joining Atalanta.

“I had nice words for the club and the coach. He warned me that Serie A is challenging and Italian football is different.

“He believed it was the right place for my development. It’s all in my hands now.”
