Ruslan Malinovskyi sent a message with his goal against Milan and so did the Atalanta fans, so now it remains to be seen if it’ll change his future amid Tottenham, Nottingham Forest and Olympique Marseille speculation.

The Ukraine international was a surprise starter in Bergamo this evening, as he was reported to be on the verge of a transfer for €20m.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed as much in yesterday’s press conference, when he sniped that it was only natural the club would “look for someone who scores more than six goals.”

Despite that, Gasp picked Malinovskyi to start against Milan and he delivered with the opening goal, a trademark left-foot strike from outside the penalty area.

Malinovskyi’s celebration reiterated his love for the city of Bergamo, the supporters and life with Atalanta, after his wife Roksana Malinovska wrote on Instagram that they did not want to leave.

When he was substituted, Malinovskyi received a standing ovation at the Gewiss Stadium and the Atalanta fans chanted ‘stay in Bergamo.’

The player sent another message via social media after the 1-1 draw, posting an image of his celebration with the comment “God’s Plan.”

Malinovskyi and the fans have made it clear they want to continue together, now it remains to be seen if Gasperini and Atalanta will change their minds.
