Paolo Maldini says his son Daniel has two ‘unique’ qualities but urges the 22-year-old to prove his worth at Monza.

Maldini Jr. returned to Monza on a permanent transfer from Milan last summer after a six-month loan spell at the U-Power Stadium in the second part of 2023-24.

He has already scored one goal in three appearances this term. Overall, he has five goals and one assist in 15 games with the Brianzoli.

His father, Paolo, a legendary defender for Milan and the Italian national team, spoke about him during an event in Florence on Monday.

“Some players develop early, and others take a while,” said Paolo Maldini.

“Perhaps he’s taken a while, but he has a unique quality in kicking the ball and vision. Now that he has exploded physically, it’s time to prove his worth.”
