15-year-old Francesco Camarda is expected to join the Milan first team for their coming clash with Fiorentina, and the club owe their thanks to former director Paolo Maldini.

The teenage striker was promoted to the Rossoneri Primavera squad this summer, lining him up with players years older.

He’s instantly made a name for himself, scoring seven goals and providing two assists at Under-19 level, including goals against Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain in the Youth League.

Milan coach Stefano Pioli is facing a slight striker crisis ahead of the match with Fiorentina, having to do without the suspended Olivier Giroud and recently losing Noah Okafor to a muscle issue. As such, he is now set to add the 15-year-old Camarda to his squad, having included him in training.

As detailed by Luca Bendoni for Grand Hotel Calciomercato, Maldini met with Camarda and his family at the start of the summer, before his departure from Milan, where he discussed his plans for the teenage striker.

Maldini outlined his intentions to immediately launch the 15-year-old in the Primavera squad and hand him a professional contract as soon as he turned 16.

The legendary ex-defender ultimately Milan days later but his plan was maintained and is now bearing fruits for the club.
