Most Milan fans want Paolo Maldini to stay and commented on the Rossoneri’s latest tweet using the hashtag #CardinaleOut.
The legendary defender is set to leave the club after a tense meeting with owner Cardinale on Monday. Multiple reports claim Maldini was sacked by the Rossoneri.
Players, especially, Leao, Theo and Maignan are said to be furious and fans on social media apparently share the same feeling.
Most Rossoneri supporters largely ignored the content of the latest tweet published by the club on Monday evening, regarding Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s retirement and went straight to the point, strongly criticising the club’s owner.
Most messages have the hashtag #CardinaleOut, others include the picture of the Milan owner with the inscription ‘Out’ and others say ‘Don’t touch Maldini.’
The Rossoneri are expected to confirm Maldini and Ricky Massara’s departure through an official statement soon. Maldini has been working as Milan’s technical area chief since 2018.
