Club legend Paolo Maldini is unsure whether he’ll ever return to Milan – ‘I don’t know if it will happen’.
The former defender played over 900 games for the Rossoneri, winning five European Cups and seven Scudetti.
It has been rumoured that Maldini could return to the club in a director role if Thai investor Bee Taechaubol takes over, but the 46-year-old is unsure if he’ll be back.
“I played for 25 years,” Maldini reminded fans and media, as he spoke at a University event.

“I played for 25 years,” Maldini reminded fans and media, as he spoke at a University event.
“After that I wanted to devote time to myself and my family, the idea was to take my time.
“I don’t know if one day I can return to the club, it wouldn’t necessarily be a good thing, and I’ll always have a fantastic history with Milan.
“It’s a source of great pride [to be a symbol of Milan], it’s difficult to finish your career at the club where you started.
“There’s double the pride for me, as my father was there, and now there’s a third generation with my children [who are in the youth ranks].
“It’s a source of pride to have spent my entire career in a Milan shirt.”
The Diavolo are currently struggling in 10th place in Serie A, and Maldini admits that his former club is going through a bad period.
“It’s a bad period, but after 25 years of the same ownership [Silvio Berlusconi’s], the investment is no longer what it once was.
“The President is looking for a group which will invest to take Milan back into the Champions League.
“A lot of players have left, it takes time and ideas, and the ideas are not always there.”
