Milan director Paolo Maldini would not confirm or deny advances for Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. ‘We have many options.’

Sky Sport Italia report that a basic deal has been agreed for a €3m loan and option to buy at the end of the season for another €30m.

“We have many options,” Maldini told Sport Mediaset. “We set out a list of priorities before the transfer market opened, so now we can proceed calmly. If we can improve the current squad, then we will.”

Maldini was speaking ahead of tonight’s friendly against Serie B side Monza at San Siro.

It was meant to be a reunion with former Rossoneri chiefs Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, but neither of them will be present this evening.

Berlusconi is in hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19 and Galliani is self-isolating as a precautionary measure.

“I wish the President a fast recovery and everyone knows he’s a rock. Galliani was disappointed not to be present, as the teams he loves the most are Milan and Monza.

“We had suggested a friendly every year, but then decided it was better to just play directly in Serie A when Monza get there.”
