The Rossoneri ultras met Donnarumma yesterday, urging him to sign a contract extension; otherwise, he would sit out the upcoming Juventus clash.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, Donnarumma left the meeting in tears.

"It is important to reiterate firmly that no one outside Milan can decide who plays and who renews. Choices regarding the pitch are down to the coach, while the club is in charge of contractual issues,” Milan’s technical director Maldini told ANSA.

"From this moment, every single negotiations for new contract extension is on hold until the end of the season so that the team can focus on the pitch.

"Meantime, we’ll continue to protect our players as we have always done."

Milan beat Benevento yesterday and will face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium next week.

Both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu will see their contracts expire in June and haven't reached an agreement to extend their stays at the club.
