Mario Mandzukic returns to the bench after a long injury lay-off, having barely featured since he arrived in January.
“Mandzukic is disappointed, because he hoped to be in better shape and not to get this injury, but it’s a risk every player runs,” Maldini told Sky Sport Italia.
The main issue at Milan right now is the negotiation of contracts, as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ibrahimovic would all be free agents this summer.
Is Maldini irritated at players largely asking for two-year deals rather than long-term commitment?
“These are choices everyone has to make. I am not here to judge, I am here to do what is best for the club. I also know that you need two parties to be happy in order to strike a deal.”
Maldini was asked if there were any updates on the contract negotiations.
“With Ibra, we are very close to an agreement, there are just a few minor details to be resolved.”
