The feud between the men has been dragging on for many months and intensified this week when Mirabelli gave an interview to Tuttomercatoweb.

“Maldini was a great player, but he should be asked: ‘What have you ever done to become a director?’ Having him as a director is like a doctor who didn’t go to elementary school.”

Maldini replied this evening via news agency ANSA.

“I consider any negative comment from Mirabelli to be a great compliment. Hearing him speak, if I were him, I’d avoid talking about any level of schooling or education.”
