Napoli full-back Kevin Malcuit has rejected a second call-up from Morocco as he is holding out for France.

Malcuit remains uncapped at international level and had received a Moroccan call for their upcoming matches with Libya and Gabon.

It was first thought that he had pledged his allegiance to the North African nation.

However, France Football reports he pulled out of the squad as he wants to be recognised by the French national team.

The 28-year-old was born in France and had spent his entire playing career there before joining Napoli in 2018.

He had already turned down Morocco in 2016 and is also eligible for Mauritania through his mother.
