Ainsley Maitland-Niles has agreed personal terms with Roma, but Arsenal reportedly want an option to buy for €15m, while the Giallorossi have offered €10m.
The versatile English defender is ready to fly to Rome to complete an initial loan move with an option to buy.
The two parties seemed to be really close only a few days ago, but the deal is not done yet, according to multiple reports in Italy.
La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reports Roma will pay circa €750,000 for the player’s loan until the end of the season, but the problem is that the two clubs have not agreed on the fee for Maitland-Niles’ permanent transfer to the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma have offered €10m, while Arsenal want at least €15m to sell the player permanently.
Meantime, Maitland-Niles has recovered from COVID, so he will be flying to Rome as soon as he receives the green light from his club.
