Mike Maignan has seen his season derailed by a recurring calf injury but gave Milan something to smile about after returning to squad training.
The French shot stopper initially suffered the injury whilst with Les Bleus during the September international break, coming off at half time in a Nations League clash with Austria.
He missed several games before returning to training, but was not able to continue his recovery after his issue worsened, forcing him to the sidelines for significantly longer than expected.
As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Maignan completed the entirety of today’s squad training session at Milanello, giving Milan some positive news ahead of their upcoming clash with Atalanta.
The club hope to have the Frenchman back in the squad for the match and his condition will be monitored on a day-to-day basis, with the Rossoneri desperate to avoid any more setbacks. It will be up to the medical staff and Stefano Pioli to decide whether or not to start the 27-year-old.
