Mike Maignan will miss Milan’s last game of the season through injury and is also at risk of missing out on the upcoming European Championship.

The 28-year-old French shot stopper has only featured once for the Rossoneri in their last six Serie A matches, dealing with a muscle problem. Backup goalkeeper Marco Sportiello was forced to take over in his place, doing a sufficient job.

Maignan has continued to be a core part of the Milan squad since his arrival from Lille back in July 2021 and his strong performances have continued this term, keeping 15 clean sheets across 42 matches.

Maignan injury

L’Equipe details how Maignan has suffered a new finger injury, forcing him to miss Milan’s last game of the season against Salernitana. He’ll undergo a round of tests with his club to diagnose the seriousness of the issue.

With less than a month to go until the European Championship, there are fears that the 28-year-old could be ruled out of the tournament.
