Milan’s Mike Maignan is one of the 10 goalkeepers nominated for this year’s Yashin Trophy, joining stars like Thibaut Courtois and Alisson Becker.

The 27-year-old French shot stopper joined the Rossoneri last summer from Lille in a deal worth around €14.4m and he went on to play a leading role in their Scudetto run, keeping 17 clean sheets and conceding only 21 goals in 32 Serie A appearances.

France Football announced the 10 nominees for this year’s Yashin Trophy, awarded to the best goalkeeper of the year, and Maignan is on the list. The Milan shot stopper is joined by some of the best goalkeepers in world football, putting him in esteemed company.

The other nine nominees are as follows: Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou, Liverpool’s Alisson Becker, Real Madrid’s Courtois, Manchester City’s Ederson, Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy, Bayern’s Manuel Neuer, Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp, and Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris.

Considering that he’s contracted to the club until 2026, Milan look set to be in a safe pair of hands with Maignan between the sticks.
