Douglas Maicon is likely to remain unavailable for Roma’s trip to face Atalanta on Saturday, according to reports from Trigoria.
The Brazilian full-back hasn’t played for the Giallorossi since being injured before the club’s 7-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, but it had been hoped the former Inter man would return this weekend.
However, Sky reports that Maicon played no part in Roma’s training session at Trigoria this morning, having failed to recover fully from an inflamed knee ligament and is almost certain to be out for Saturday’s game in Bergamo.
Vasilis Torosidis is expected to once again fill the right-back role, with Davide Astori and Kostas Manolas in the centre and either Jose Holebas or Ashley Cole on the left.
