There is some relatively good news for Inter after Douglas Maicon’s injury turned out to be less serious than first feared.

There were reports that the Brazilian international could be sidelined for some months amidst concerns that he had ruptured knee ligaments in the 1-0 loss at Marseille on Wednesday.

However, the former Monaco right-back underwent tests on Thursday afternoon which ‘only’ highlighted a tendon strain in his right knee.

The South American is thus expected to be out for around 15-20 days rather than the six months some sources were suggesting.
