Walter Mazzarri is still struggling with kidney stones, so Christian Maggio fired up Napoli ahead of the Cagliari game. “We're ready for the final sprint.”

The Coach missed both training sessions on Friday and Saturday due to the pain of dealing with kidney stones and it's unclear if he'll be fit for the bench tomorrow.

“The boss is made of hard stuff. I spoke to him this morning and I'm sure he'll be there, as he never gives in,” said Maggio.

“The boss is made of hard stuff. I spoke to him this morning and I'm sure he'll be there, as he never gives in,” said Maggio.

“This squad has taken after his character and won't give up either, as we want to continue along this path to the end of the season.”

Maggio won't be playing against Cagliari on Sunday, as he must sit out a ban, but took it upon himself to fire up his teammates.

“We are concentrated and convinced of our potential. It's a very important game for our progress. I won't be there due to suspension, but our strength is the team unit.”

The Sardinians are unbeaten in Naples since 2004, while in Serie A their last defeat was in April 1993 when Gianfranco Zola got the only goal.

“Napoli are achieving extraordinary things and we want to carry on. Cagliari are a tough opponent and we haven't beaten them at the San Paolo for some time, but this year we ended the Stadio Sant'Elia taboo, so hope to break another.”

The Partenopei are looking solid in third place and closed on the top two after their win at Parma last week.

“The team is fired up and taut. We are ready for the final sprint. The warmth of the fans is pushing us on, as we all dream of great achievements.”

Napoli squad: De Sanctis, Iezzo, Aronica, Cannavaro, Cribari, Dossena, Santacroce, Ruiz, Zuniga, Gargano, Hamsik, Pazienza, Sosa, Vitale, Yebda, Cavani, Lavezzi, Lucarelli, Mascara
