The Italy international has been the subject of some transfer rumours, as his contract is due to expire this summer.
However, speaking today, his agent Massimo Briaschi has followed up the Vesuviani’s sporting director Riccardo Bigon in optimism over Maggio’s future at the San Paolo.
“For the moment there is no big news and Christian is 100 per cent staying with Napoli,” explained Briaschi to Itasportpress.it, in reference to the January window in particular.
“Of course the player has the option of leaving the club as a free agent in June, but we have given ourselves a deadline, in agreement with the club, to evaluate the situation.
“We have a meeting scheduled in February, just after the transfer window is closed.”
