Maggio: ‘Defeat will do Napoli good’

Christian Maggio believes Napoli's unexpected home defeat to Parma will “do us good” ahead of Bayern Munich.

“In a certain way, I'm almost glad of this result, because now we will be even more careful not to make the same mistakes,” he said of the 2-1 loss.

“It's true that the Champions League fixture on Tuesday might've affected us on a psychological level, although I don't think that was the case.

“It's true that the Champions League fixture on Tuesday might've affected us on a psychological level, although I don't think that was the case.

“I think this defeat will do us good. We knew Parma were coming here to clam up and go on the counter, which is how they scored their two goals.

“We will take what good work we've done up until now and focus on Bayern Munich, which is going to be a fascinating and difficult game.

“Fortunately, we will have 60,000 extraordinary fans behind us.”
