New Atalanta signing Joakim Maehle is already in Bergamo and passed his medical, but cannot make his debut against Sassuolo.
The winger completed his transfer from KRC Genk for €11m plus bonuses and was on the bench for his final game with the Belgian club.
La Gazzetta dello Sport notes the 23-year-old Dane flew in to Bergamo this morning and has already passed his medical for the Serie A club.
Atalanta will resume training tomorrow, and Maehle will be taking part, but he won’t be able to make his debut against Sassuolo on January 3.

That is because the January transfer window technically opens on January 4, so Maehle cannot be registered for that game.
He could, however, be in the squad to face Parma on January 6.
