The young defender played every minute for the Tuscan side in Serie A last year, but has so far been given just one Champions League cameo appearance for the Bianconeri.

“I expected him to have more space,” Maccarone admitted in a Press conference ahead of the meeting with Juve on Sunday.
“It’s also true that he has great champions head of him, so it’s not easy to play. I’m convinced of my opinion though, someone with his characteristics will be a starter for Juve in the future.”
It has been suggested that Rugani may finally get his chance on Sunday against his former club, but Maccarone is looking forward to facing the Old Lady regardless.
“For us to face Juventus now is a good advantage. We’re going through a good period, but it’s when you’re getting results that the intensity can drop.
“Playing against Juventus now is perfect, and protects us from that, because how could you not be motivated to face the champions of Italy?
“A Juventus crisis? How can you doubt a team which has won the last four titles? We’re ready, even though it will be a very delicate match.”
