Olympique Lyon have no intention of letting Emerson Palmieri leave this month, turning down multiple approaches from Chelsea.

The Blues sent the 27-year-old Italian-Brazilian to the French club on loan last summer but now they’re regretting that decision, following the serious injury to Ben Chilwell, leaving coach Thomas Tuchel with only Marcos Alonso in the left wing back role.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have made three different attempts to bring back Emerson to West London, but Lyon are not willing to let the player go, despite the €4m compensation offer by the Premier League club.

The 27-year-old Italian-Brazilian has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season for Lyon, for a total of 1315 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist. Chelsea may make another attempt to bring him back to London, but they’ll need to work fast, as there’s only a little over a week left in the transfer window.
