Inter are open to selling Diego Godin after just one season, but Olympique Lyonnais are struggling to meet his wage demands.

Multiple sources in France and now Italy point to Lyon making an approach for the 33-year-old Uruguay international.

He joined the Nerazzurri as a free agent last summer from Atletico Madrid, but has failed to make an impact.

Godin has regularly been benched in favour of youngster Alessandro Bastoni, so with a €5m net plus bonuses per year contract, Inter are more than happy to let him leave.

The salary is an issue for those who would purchase him, though, as Calciomercato.com point out Lyon cannot afford that kind of deal.

It may well be up to Godin now to accept a pay-cut or try to break his way back into Antonio Conte’s starting XI.
