Edin Dzeko has revealed that compatriot and Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic jokingly tried to talk him out of a Roma switch.

The Bosnian was officially announced as a new Giallorossi player yesterday and reflected on his time at Manchester City during his presentation today.

"When I was a kid Serie A was the best league in the world. It went down a bit for a while but now it's on the up again.

“I had four fantastic years at Man City. They've improved a lot in recent years. I hope to repeat similar success here at Roma.

“What happened in my last year with Man City is in the past now. Roma is my present and I can't wait to get started.

"I played less in my last year at City because they're a top club with lots of players. I also had an injury that held me back.

"I spoke to Lulic and he jokingly tried to talk me out of coming here! Now I hope to beat him and Lazio in the derby."
