Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic speaks about his horror injury – “it could have been much worse”.

The Bosnian was involved in a freak gym accident last week, in which the top of his ring finger was chopped off.

“The doctors told me everything is going well and that the operation was a success,” Lulic told Fakor in his homeland.

“I was at the clinic because they wanted to keep me under observation. I believe I’ve avoided an amputation now.

“It’s been several days since I had surgery, my fingers have returned to a normal colour, and the doctors told me that if there haven’t been complications up to now there won’t be in the future.

“What happened? I was doing leg exercises, I slipped and the weights well onto my hand. It all happened in seconds.

“I was taken straight to hospital and they operated on my immediately. It could have been much worse. The most important thing is that the finger was saved.

“I should be back in a month, maybe a month-and-a-half, but at the moment I’m just thinking about my health.”
