Romelu Lukaku scored at least one goal in his debut as a starter with Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter and Roma hope to see more of the same against Empoli on Sunday.

The Belgian striker is expected to start in Roma’s attack against the Tuscans this coming weekend. Lukaku already made his Roma debut before the international break, coming off the bench in the second half of a 2-1 loss against Milan.

As reported by Il Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta, Big Rom is expected to feature in Roma’s starting XI with Paulo Dybala at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. Lukaku is accustomed to strong starts having scored at least once in his debuts as a starter for Inter, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Belgian scored two goals against West Ham in 2017-18 and one against Brighton the following season, both with Manchester United and José Mourinho in charge.

In the following two campaigns with Inter, he scored once against Lecce (2019-20) and Fiorentina (2020-21). Lukaku also found the net in his first game as a starter for Chelsea against Arsenal in 2021-22 and, once again, against Lecce for Inter in 2022-23.

Roma strongly rely on Lukaku’s goals, having had a slow start to the season with just one point in three games.
