Romelu Lukaku has become the sixth player to score at least 59 goals in the opening 100 Serie A games, but has posted a controversial Instagram story: ‘They denigrated me it’s the f…… truth.’

The Belgian forward scored his third goal in four Roma appearances on Sunday in a 1-1 away draw at Torino.

As highlighted by Opta, Lukaku has now scored 59 goals in his first 100 Serie A matches and only five players have managed more in the three-points era: David Trezeguet, Vincenzo Montella, Andriy Shevchenko, Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lukaku reacted to his goal against Torino with a cryptic Instagram story on Monday morning. The Giallorossi striker shared a line from Bâtiment, a song by French rapper Niska, that says: “They denigrated me it’s the f…… truth.”

Lukaku joined Roma on loan from Chelsea earlier this summer, but the Giallorossi do not have an option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

The former Inter striker found the net in each of the three games he started for the Giallorissi.
