Inter star Romelu Lukaku has reportedly snubbed a potential return to Chelsea, despite being offered a higher salary.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea hold talks with the Belgian star, offering him to return to Stamford Bridge.

However, Lukaku wants to stay at Inter and refused to continue negotiations with the Blues.

The pink paper reports Lukaku doesn’t want to leave the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza despite being offered a higher salary in London.

Lukaku, 28, sees his contract expire in June 2024 and according to the report, Inter have never received a formal offer from Chelsea.

Lukaku joined the Nerazzurri in a €74m move from Manchester United in the summer of 2019.

He has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances with the Serie A champions during his two-year spell in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Inter are in financial trouble due to the COVID pandemic and had to sell Achraf Hakimi to balance the books.

However, they are not planning to sell another one of their stars in the summer transfer window, so Lukaku is expected to stay.

The striker had joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2011, but played only 15 games at a senior level before joining West Brom on loan and Everton on a permanent deal.
