It’s starting to look increasingly unlikely that Roma will be able to keep Romelu Lukaku beyond this season and Saudi Arabian clubs have emerged to start exploring a summer move.

The 30-year-old Belgian forward did well in the first half of the season with Jose Mourinho, netting 15 goals under the Special One, but his form has collapsed since the arrival of coach Daniele De Rossi, managing just three goals over the last four months.

Roma would like to keep Lukaku, but media reports on Wednesday highlighted what a monumental task it would take the club, with combed costs of over €80m split between a deal with Chelsea and a three-year contract in the Italian capital.

Lukaku of Arabia

Corriere della Sera via Calciomercato.com details how multiple unnamed Saudi Arabia clubs have emerged to start sounding out a possible summer move for Lukaku, aware of his unique position on the transfer market as Chelsea prepare to look for new buyers.

The Blues want around €40-45m for the 30-year-old striker, who has no intention of being a part of the squad in West London next season. Things are extra difficult for the Giallorossi, who can no longer take advantage of the Growth Decree in a deal for the Belgian.
