Romelu Lukaku is personally working to convince Chelsea to let him leave on loan to Inter this summer.

The 29-year-old Belgian forward no longer wants to stay in London and he’s desperate for a return to the Nerazzurri, where he found significantly more success. This season Lukaku netted eight goals in 26 Premier League appearances, and last campaign he scored 24 goals in 36 Serie A games.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku told Inter that he’d take care of convincing Chelsea to release him on loan this summer, informing them during the meeting between Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and Sebastien Ledure, his agent.

Should the deal between the clubs be finalised by June 30th, Inter would receive the benefits of the Growth Decree, making a deal much more accessible.

Chelsea paid €115m for Lukaku last summer but now they’re in a tough spot and it may suit them to send him away on loan, rather than trying to make things work for a second season.

  1. @Milaneire Are Milan scared already. Imagine Dybala, Lukaku and Lautaro. Plus a coach that actually plays attacking football
