Romelu Lukaku is insistent about a reunion with Antoino Conte and is only willing to switch Chelsea for Napoli this month, reports detail.

The 31-year-old Belgian striker has been identified by the new Partenopei coach as his primary choice to bolster the club’s frontline once Victor Osimhen is sold. The Blues aren’t open to a new loan deal, only considering a definitive sale so they can close the chapter once and for all.

On Thursday, reports suggested that Aston Villa had agreed a fee with Chelsea for Lukaku, but that the striker had given a clear rejection to the move. The Belgian forward has a circa €35m asking price in West London, a fee Napoli aren’t keen to pay.

Lukaku only wants Napoli

Page eight of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Lukaku is refusing to consider any other destination this summer as he waits for Napoli to set up a deal with Chelsea. He is continuing to train individually, wanting to be fully fit for his reunion with Conte.

The Partenopei are still waiting to sell Osimhen and there’s been suggestions that he could head to Chelsea for a large lump sum and Lukaku, but Paris Saint-Germain are still considered the favourites for the time being.
