Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku answered fan questions on Twitter, including why Ashley Young will be missed at Inter, how Antonio Conte changed his play and the inevitable pineapple on pizza verdict.

The Inter striker was taking a break after Belgium qualified for the Round of 16 at Euro 2020 and decided to host his own Q&A session on social media.

It seems that a life of coaching is not for Big Rom, who assured after he retires that he’ll “chill and take my kids to school and support them.”

He already stated that he is “happy at Inter” and confirmed the climate is one of the reasons why, insisting “Milan all day” has better weather compared to Manchester and London.

“To be honest, I never liked the back to goal play… until Antonio Conte made me see what I could do for the team! Also for myself.”

Young has also left and Lukaku called the Englishman “Hands down top 5 teammates of all time,” who will be missed at San Siro, but Marcelo Brozovic is “very good” at playing darts.

The thing that fuelled him the most was being told he was “not intelligent,” which is remarkable for a man who speaks seven languages fluently.

“Just the game is different. You got to use your brains more in Italy… Something they said I couldn’t do.”

Lukaku hinted at a future revelation about mental health concerns. “I went through some issues in 2018, going to talk about it real soon.”

He posted an image of himself with the Serie A trophy as the “favourite moment of your overall career so far.”

Finally, when asked for his opinion on pineapple as part of a pizza, Lukaku showed he really has settled into the Italian culture. “HELL NO.”
