Lukaku linked with Milan and Juve as unhappy Chelsea star wants Serie A return

Il Corriere dello Sport reports Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku wants to return to Italy, where Milan and Juventus have emerged as possible options for the Belgium star.

The former Inter striker returned to Stamford Bridge in a €113m deal last summer, but his season in London wasn’t as good as he expected as the 29-year-old has only scored 15 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.

According to the report, Thomas Tuchel is open to letting him leave, but the Rossoneri would only be able to secure his services on loan while the striker would need to cut his €15m-a-year salary.

Agent keeps door open for Lukaku’s move to Inter or Milan

His agent Federico Pastorello had mentioned a possible move to Milan in his latest interview with La Repubblica newspaper, but insisted that he hadn’t held talks with either the Rossoneri or Inter.

Juventus are mentioned as a possible destination for the Belgium striker, but the Old Lady may not be willing to invest much in a new forward, given that they spent €80m to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina in January.

Lukaku has also been linked with a return to Inter, but the Nerazzurri would only get him on loan.

Serie A clubs can’t use the growth decree if Lukaku returns to Italy as the 50% tax discount can’t be applied to professionals returning to the country after just one season abroad and if they sign contracts shorter than three years.
