Romelu Lukaku is ready for his return to Inter on loan from Chelsea, confirmed lawyer Sebastien Ledure. ‘A little more time and then official confirmation.’
The centre-forward was only sold to the Premier League side for €113m last summer, but almost immediately realised he had made a mistake and started working on a comeback.
That now seems to be imminent, because the clubs agreed a loan fee of €8m plus up to €4m in performance-related bonuses based on team targets such as the Serie A title and Champions League.
Belgian lawyer Ledure has been dealing with the negotiations personally, replacing agent Federico Pastorello, whose contract expires on June 30.
So far, Ledure has been remarkably quiet, but he broke ranks to speak with Sportitalia in an exclusive interview this evening.
“A little more time and then there will be official confirmation,” he said of the Inter transfer.
Lukaku is also taking a 35 per cent pay cut in order to push through the return to San Siro, while Inter are aided by tax cuts as long as the deal is completed by June 30.
